Go Pro vids

Postby to the beach » Tue Jan 21, 2014 8:49 pm

Hey everyone, it's winter and riding season is at a standstill for me since it's below freezing here in NH for days straight. Other than a winter build, I haven't had much to do so I've been watching videos.

I'd also like to invite you to post links to bike videos you like....so share away.

I'm just amazed at how many great Go Pro vids there are available to watch. There's this one from Red Bull Rampage 2013:

And after watching Klunkerz, I found a couple vids filmed on Mt. Tam. Check out the 2008 Joe Breeze run down the "Repack" trail:

And this "Repack" ride on a retro vintage Klunker bike with drum brakes:

I also think that's what everyone at mtbr would like everyone else to believe THEY ride like that!

The vid starting at the statue of Christ is in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. I used to live there and have been to that statue many times (riding a cog railway through a beautiful forest). If anyone had told me there was an mtb route down that mountain I would have laughed at them. My mouth was open the entire vid and the "F" word escaped me a few times.

All you have to do is go to Google Earth, focus in on Christ of Corcovado in Rio and follow the route. Not for the faint-hearted. I have no idea how anyone would train for that. Much of it seems to me to be over 45-degrees down.

Amazing!

How did they ever pave that mountain village? Nice rip down though.

I'm not in the same class or even zip code as the vids above but here are my first GoPro vids. The free GoPro editing software is easy and intuitive. I've never done any video editing but I was up and editing my vids in no time at all.

I'm not sure why the video quality in this vid sux so bad. I don't think I did anything different, but it turned out really blurry.

Wow, thanks for reminding me. I won a go pro back in nov or dec and haven't even taken it out of the box. I think I'll charge it up, strap it to the front of my rabbit dog, and take him hunting tomorrow.
