haha. I find this stupid forum, decide to revive an old Mongoose bike to freeride/XC. And now since I joined two weeks ago, I've bought a complete other bike (Diamondback Coil EX) 3 rear shocks off eBay, a set of Marzocchi forks, and have a lead on another complete bike. The first step, is realizing you have a problem.

On a side note, my revived Raleigh Olympian 12-speed road bike is still trucking along with only $110 dollars into it total.

yes it is addicting .... lack of cash and my wife keep me from buying other bikes.....I have looked at bikes on craigslist and have pondered the idea of buying a hardtail like a schwinn sidewinder or a roadmaster granite peak or an old hardtail off craigslist... so as money allows I do small upgrades on my V2100.....I am always looking in thrift stores and garage sales for bike stuff... in fact I was looking at getting some toe clips.... $9 special order at my LBS or some cheaper on amazon...... found some at a thrift store, schwinn brand for $2 brand new still in the bag... I cant work due to neurological issues, so I have very limited funds at the moment

Yeah. I have too many bikes as well. I went from my roadmaster mt. Climber and Next Shocker (my only to bikes ) to the xr250, Blackcomb, aluminum comp, nishiki backroads, denali pro, and still looking for another bike. Lol. It, s a real addiction.

(Chorus of voices) Hello Justin! (/Chorus)

I don't even want to count the number of bikes I have (or kayaks... has to be over 9 of those). But I have stopped, for now. The only reason is that my local Walmart refuses to stock anything but $99 bikes on the theory that no one will buy the more expensive ones (they've actually told me this). So they're guaranteeing that no one will buy the more expensive ones by not putting them on the racks and thus saving me I-don't-know-how-much money.

Otherwise i'm sure I'd have a Pro29, one of their fatbikes and a Thruster fixie in my quiver of bikes.

So... thank you Walmart for not stocking the bikes I'd buy. I'm not sure how you became the world's largest marketer but if I understood marketing I wouldn't be an engineer.

And welcome to the forum!

I hear that. My problem is the vast hobbies I already do have. Used to race ATV MX but got out of that. I have car toys, street and dirtbike toys, the road bike, working out etc. Just adding to the collection I guess. Haha. I guess I live by the quote "he who dies with the most stuff wins"

Well to follow along with my trend of I will never be happy... Bought an '07 Mongoose Teocali Elite beginning of summer, sold off the DB Coil last week and picked up a '10 Boot'R for a DH rig.

Sick steeds indeed!!!

Just be precautious with the Mongoose's suspensions pivot points, especially the main pivot bearing. They are know to shear and break. I have had a couple friends get hurt pretty good because of that issue. they also like to loosen, so keep an eye on them before every ride brother. Besides that, those I-Drives are just SICK!!!
