First place i like to start is making sure everything is functioning and adjusted properly.

Second on a bike such as yours it has a steel seat post, handlebars and a stem....Those i would swap out for anything alloy.

The rest is fix it as it breaks, or upgrade as you want.

Start up a thread for yourself on it and we can help you along the way with any questions or advice.

New Genesis V2100, just a few upgrades left to go, replacing front disc brake next, and converting rear from v-brake to disc while I'm at it.

Yep, I gotta say, for 150 bucks it really is a solid bike. I took it out to the trail stock and beat the crap out of it. The bottom bracket didn't fare too well, but I already had a replacement for it. I've seen some of the other v2100 builds on here. Hoping to get mine up to that level one of these days!
