I thought GT and CANNONDALE were two separate companies.Other than that the bike looks good and has deore drivetrain but 600 usd is steep for a used generic hardtail when people on this forum are buying Walmarts xr 29 pro for 200 usd. That leaves 400 usd for upgrades that would make the bike better. That Huffy 27.5 would also be my choice for purchase. There is a person on this forum who has very valid points for hard tails and would probably beg to differ because they are lighter and more useful in light trail or street situations.

That bike was probably about $650 brand new but looks like a terrific bike. I'm a little surprised to see Deore stock on a $650 bike, actually. Probably worth $500 if you like x/c bikes. Here is a link to the 2011 version: http://mountain-bikes.gearsuite.com/l/1 ... e-2-0-Disc

I would really appreciate if you guys can give some advice. So I've been thinking of getting a mountain bike to use as parts for my Genesis v2100. So far there are 2 mountains bikes on Craigslist I've seen that look pretty good. One is a 2008 rockhopper comp and the other one is a Schwinn moab that has been upgraded. Do you guys think everything is swappable to the genesis besides the bottom bracket. I know that I need to know the steerer tube measurements. Also do you guys think its worth swapping things over to the genesis or should i just buy the one of the craigs bikes and ride it. Thanks in advance https://newyork.craigslist.org/lgi/bik/5111235445.html http://newyork.craigslist.org/brx/bik/5121586562.html

The moab is a small size bike. Probably too small for you. The rock hopper would be the best bike for you. But, if the bikes direct sale is going on, jump on one of those.
