Just picked up a Origin8 Uno

Postby Irishmongooserider » Fri May 03, 2013 6:42 pm

Just got a used Origin8 Uno single speed/fixie (t uses a flip flop hub, so it can be both). This was Origin8's best commuter bike a few years ago (now replaced by the Cutler series which costs less at about $390 starting for the coaster brake model and goes up from there) and retailed for $500. I picked it up at my favorite shop after someone traded it in on a Fuji road bike for only $100, so I feel like I got a steal, considering the wheelset alone sells for over $150: http://www.amazon.com/Origin8-Track-Att ... 8+wheelset

This bike is smothered in Origin8 parts... Bars, stem, post, cranks, rims, hubs, brakes, brake levers, pedals, etc.

Here's the pics (I think the Pearl Charcoal color looks great):

Parts to be added, as this will be a customizing type of rebuild rather than just a simple get-it-going quick fix:

What a great find! Just in time for summer rides around town. Looks nice too. Can't wait to see how it looks when you're done.!

Just put an order in for a set of WTB's Thickslicks from their Freedom line (in white) along with a few trinkets including Origin8's ProForm UL pedals, chainring bolts, and a KMC chain, all in red. Will post some pics when I get it all.

im just making sure im right but, the seat post and and headset are 1 1/8" correct? The Reason is i have a threaded fork and need to buy a quill adapter and want to get the right size.

The stem is a 1 1/8" threadless, so you'll need a 1" threaded to 1 1/8" adaptor. Origin8 and Delta both have one. You've got a shop there in Owensboro that can order from JBIMPORTERS or check Amazon.com and they're $17.50 but I've seen them for less.

Looking good irish! Love that basket bar combo never seen that before. I put thickslicks on my mongoose sinsure, i should update that thread as the sinsure is all brown and black now. I really like the thickslicks, i was riding them fixed in the rain this weekend no problem. Great tires.
