in Lexington, KY at Castlewood Park.
This is a very grass roots racing event. I plan on entering the Fun Race which is one lap then immediately afterwards doing the First Timers/Single Speed race for 2 laps. I will be on my Mongoose Hex CX Frankenbike.

Nice tires :) Those knobby little buggers should be great for CX. The Walmart site says gearing is 36x12. Is that correct & have you changed it? And have you weighed the bike since all the changes?

Good luck with the race! Maybe you can get Craig & BBB to sponsor you :P

I have changed the gearing, I am running a 34x16 currently. I have not weighed the bike. i might try to do that soon.

Gary... Walmart has an inexpensive digital scale good to 50lbs in the fishing department. I bought one and hung the scale up from a hook in the ceiling and then lifted my bikes up to the hook on the scale and weighed them. No serious surprises but at least I knew what they weighed. It's strong enough to weigh bikes and the hook is big enough to catch under the seat; would need a bigger hook to weigh by the front wheel though.

Also, we'd be proud if you wore a bigboxbike.com tee shirt or something but we don't have any other way to sponsor you. Go get 'em. :)

I would love to support the forum. I'd be more than happy to purchase a t-shirt if you have some printed. I try to do some sort of ride or race every couple of months.

Go to www.cafepresscom and search for bigboxbikes.com and see if they still have those.

Too bad. Rain would make a cross race waaay more interesting. :P And would have justified waaay more beer too! :)
