Wide-tire bicycles with flotation are great in snow or on sand.

Recommendations on a decent Fat Bike

Postby Ridin_Dirty » Sun Jun 28, 2015 9:21 pm

I'm relocating to the midwest and it will be my first time in an area with 4 seasons. I'm interested in a fat bike because I hear they're good for riding in the snow. What are some of your recommendations for fat bikes?

I came across a 26" Mongoose Hitch fat bike. How does it stack up?

Looks like the dolomite in Red and sporting lighter rims, I'd say that's a good choice for the price.

Thanks! How do you think the other components compare to the Dolomite?

They stopped selling the Dolomite and this model popped up only very recently, you would be the first owner to post about this bike.

Would like to know the BB shell width, BB spindle length & rear axle width. Wondering if Pacific has gone to standard BB configuration instead of the one-off of the Beast & Dolomite. Crossing fingers for common sense at mfg.

Almost forgot about this thread. Thank you all for the feedback. I finally purchased a fatty a couple of weeks ago. I found a someone selling a used (like new) Mongoose Vinson for a good price and love it!
