Wicked's FS 650b, build up.

Well, I just sold my beloved V2100. This bike has been good to me and held up to all the abuse I lashed upon it. I was quite sad to see her go. Time to pass it on and start on a new project. I was able to score a full suspension 650b specific frame compliments of Pinkbike at a great price. I also sold my Fisher Rumblefish at a price I just couldn't pass up. Between both bikes I should have the funds for a great build up to replace both :D
I have been wanting a 650b for some time and the frame is on the way now. Will post up photos as soon as it gets here. Ordered some parts to get me started.
-Rockshox Ario R, rear shock.
-Rockshox Revelation 650b fork. Dual position air 120-150mm.
-Raceface Evovle seatpost.
-Raceface single speed chain ring, 32T.
-Raceface Evovle stem, 70mm.
-Easton Carbon EC90 flat handlebars.
-Crank Brothers Cobalt 2, 650b wheelset.
-Crank Brothers, lock on grips.
-Xon 180mm. rotors.
-Avid Elixir 1 hydro brakes.
-Scwalbe Nobby Nic, 27.5x2.35 tires.
-BBG bash guard, 32T.
-Sram X5 Crankset. GXP
-Sram X5 rear derailleur, 10 speed medium cage.
-Sram X5 trigger shifter, 10 speed.
-Sram PG1070 Cassette, 11-36T
-Prologo Zero II saddle.
Should be a good start. Still searching ebay, pinkbike and craigslist for cheep parts to come.

Always enjoy your builds, wicked. I must build vicariously through others since I don't have that kind of cash just now :)

I here you man. I never buy any parts full price. I have made it a hobby to just stock up on parts, then build when I have acquired enough. I am always looking for parts I like and don't buy till they come up dirt cheap vial e-bay, pinkbike craigslist etc. Sometimes even sites like blueskycycling, pricepoint, chainreactioncyles, and jensonusa sells past year components very cheap. I always look out for these sales. I found that if I'm patient, a part I really want will be found for at least half the full price if not lower. The fork on my 29er carbon for example is about 900.00 msrp, scored it slightly used from pinkbike for 320.00. Granted, I had been trying to get one for about 2 months. Being patient and persistent pays off in the end. I have already had offers for my carbon 29er at a price almost twice what went into it financially on my side. I have yet to break even or not make extra cash on the bikes I have sold. It has become almost like a hobby to me. :)
I sold two bikes to build a bike I have had an itch for and still came out with plenty of cash to spare. Funny how before this site, I had never put a bike together. Never again will I pay full price for a bike at a bike shop. Only the individual knows what components he likes and his style of riding. Build to ones own wants, and needs. :D

-Amen Brother...
Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat.

Thanks 6sharky9. I have sold a few bikes and don't miss any of them like the V2100.
My new canvas to work with :) . Looks and feels solid and light as hell. Inspected frame for any signs of damage
and all is good to go. Frame arrived with one set of interchangeable drop outs, 10x135 and 12x142 with thru axle included. Sweet....
Parts installed thus far.
-Rockshox Ario R shock. 165mm.
-Raceface Evovle seat post. 31.6mm.
-KCNC seat post clamp. 36.4mm red.
-FSA orbit integrated headset.
Seat post will be changed soon. It turns out this bike takes a 34.9 clamp.

Rockshox Revelation fork came in :) Dual position air 120-150mm. Ordered some new fork graphics from
Slik Graphics to better match the bike. Converted Sram X5 single speed crank. Truvativ 32T chain ring with red chain ring bolts and black BBG bash. Put on some red pedals pegs on my platform pedals as well. Waiting on MRP guide to install crank set. Also threw on a temp Charge Spoon saddle. Wheel set will be in later today :D

Starting to take shape :D Installed the Crank Brothers Cobalt 2, 650b wheels wrapped in Scwalbe Nobby Nic’s 27.5x2.35 front and rear. This is starting to become my favorite XC AM hard pack tire. Fast rolling good grip and plenty of bite on switch backs. Wheels are being ran tubeless with good old Stanz. Also threw on the Xon 180mm. rotors in red. Got the Avid Hydros in but it turns out my rear hydraulic line is a bit short. Will need to be replaced. A new line has been ordered and awaiting delivery. ;)

LOL.
I wanted to use blue accents this time around but already had to many red pieces from previous builds. Might as well put them to use. Next build will have blue accents. :)
