Haro Pro 24 cruiser

Postby blammo585 » Mon Apr 01, 2013 4:19 pm

Finally got the parts for my Haro cruiser and got it together. I was going to get some nice BMX tires but I got impatient and swung by the bike shop Friday afternoon. The only decent tires they had were blue Kenda Kontacts. He told me he'd sell them to me for $30. I passed on them and decided I would just order some. But Saturday when I woke up I was anxious to get the bike together and the only thing holding me back was tires. So I called my sister who lives in the city where the bike shop is and got her to go over and get the tires and bring them to me. So here it is. Maybe I will take it racing this Friday.

Nice. I actually like the blue tires on it.

Thanks. I was originally going to put blue tires on it any way. But then I decided I was going to go with some proven, quality BMX tires for performance. But my impatience got the better of me so I ended up with blue tires in the end. It might be hard to tell from the pic but my brake cable is blue, the chainwheel is blue, the chain tensioners are blue, and the seat has some blue on it. I also have some blue ODI grips; I just haven't put them on yet. I might get a blue Sinz V-brake. I wanted a white fork, but the cheapest white fork I could find was about $30~$40 more than the one I bought so I just didn't feel it was worth it.

The seatpost and seatpost clamp are both Origin8. I have several spacers on the fork right now, but I'm going to cut it down. I took the fork to the shop to have him cut it, but he told me to try it out first by using spacers. It's just too many and doesn't look good.

What would you estimate this build cost you?

Here's some pics of my cruiser with the new blue grips that I had such a hard time getting on correctly. They are ODI Longneck ST in case anyone was wondering. Best BMX grips I've used feel-wise (I used to have old pairs, too).
