its now my fave of the 3 bikes I have... its kinda heavy, but built like a tank..... I have ditched weight wherever I can without sacrificing strength

picked up some lights today on clearance... front ones were $3.99 and the rear was $7.99

modified the rear light a little and mounted it to an old school reflector bracket...... at this point the bike is pretty much done..... it rides nice now and will feel even better after the wheels get trued

took this on its maiden voyage and all was well til about a block from home something let loose in the rear deraileur and it got wadded up in the wheel..... wheel is ok.... the large sprocket in the rear has some bent teeth, so I converted it to single speed.....was pretty easy and was able to complete it in about 20 min

I've never seen one quite do that before..
But you lost some weight just getting rid of the steel mech parts :D

with the trek done and its fall I wanted to get this painted before it gets too cold to paint....... bye bye siera brown and derailuer cable mounts.....gonna shop for a color tomorrow.....something that works with red or might even find a red I like....below a pic of what I am kinda thinking

That bright red might be just the thing to turn that bike on! In some of the previous pics, it looked like the chromes pieces were in good shape.. Red should really bring out the shine from the polishing you've done
