anyone have the upc for this color?

The UPC on this bike in the store was 550377328 "700c FIXIE LADIES BLUE" but I'm not sure if the in-store and online UPC are the same though

I couldn't be happier with either of my Walmart bikes. At 66 yrs old I don't think I'll ware out either one soon.

So, just put in a Eighthinch bottom bracket and crankset. So much lighter than the original crankset, just FYI. The BB turns a lot smoother, and its sealed, so no need to worry about rust in the bearings, which turned out to be my problem. Opened it up, at least one bearing was rusted to the cage. Also, no need to adjust the cup. $15 for the BB, and I'm really interested in what a $50 Shimano or $100 Phil Wood feels like now. Oh, crankset was $50 and is forged 6061 aluminum.

Before you spend the $100 on the Phil Wood (great products btw), check out my Origin8 recommendation of this ceramic BB: http://www.origin-8.com/?page_id=91&sho ... M+BRACKETS or http://www.origin-8.com/?page_id=91&sho ... M+BRACKETS

Just for comparison, those BB's are $65 at my favorite shop, and about $86 on amazon, a bit cheaper than the Phil Wood, and ceramic to boot!

So what should one check for in store before buying one?

I read on the craigslist bicycle form that fixies are no longer a fad and that the ones at walmart are discontinued.....but that forum is full of teenage flamers so i dont know if that is correct or not

I would not think that the Wal-Mart SSFGs are discontinued too much. Saturday the $129 aluminum one was out of stock online. This evening the same bike showed to be available.

I ordered one. I'm not sure about the single speed stuff and this one costs less than the depreciation would be on a LBS bike---$138.03, free shipping and sales tax.
